It was very nice. The classes were very informative and interactive and the teachers very helpful and nice. The school was easily reachable and the provided activities sounded quite interesting though I didn’t take part in any myself. The teaching materials were easy to understand.

I am a former language teacher ... so I can be critical, but my experience at LSI in Paris was wonderful. I probably would modify a few things (because we do teach languages differently here ( in the USA), but I thought my teacher did a fantastic job ... considering she really was working with people who were at different ability levels - even though we were all categorized as A2's. The other challenge for her is that people keep coming in ... and leaving her class on a weekly basis. She handled every aspect seamlessly ... with a good sense of humor, a caring and concerned demeanor ... and an admirable ability to integrate modern strategies and technologies into her communicative classroom.
Kudos!!!

I appreciated the hospitality. and how nice everyone in this establishment was, There was this safe atmosphere that helped with learning a new language. The teacher had a very approachable character, and the topics were interesting as well. Overall it was a very pleasant and helpful experience.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...Each day I so looked forward to making my way into the heart of Paris to meet with my classmates and embark on yet another adventure. The teacher provided prompts for us to participate in conversation and to express our views on topics that we could all, regardless of age or background, participate in. It was fun but you need to be courageous to open your mouth and try. It is a really good learning experience. My only suggestion for improvement would be for a more student centred approach where we are encouraged more to exchange together as classmates and not wait until asked by the teacher. This would maximise more speaking time, more practice and more exploration of expressing oneself.

The teachers and reception staff were all very nice and helpful, from the moment I joined to my final day. The building in which the language centre is located was very nice, easy to find and well-situated. We were just a few minutes walk away from great monuments like the Louvre and Notre Dame.

My experience has been simply perfect, I really enjoyed my time at the school, and of in the city.
All the professors I had during my time were super available and well prepared. The quality of the lessons is very high and all the students I’ve met were happy.
If I will ever have the chance to come back I’ll do it without a second thought.
My experience at Language Studies International (LSI) Paris was outstanding. The professors were exceptional, ensuring that I understood every detail. I met wonderful friends from diverse backgrounds. The language immersion was fantastic, significantly improving my French skills. Additionally, the affordable coffee was a pleasant surprise. The location, facilities, and extracurricular activities all contributed to a rich and fulfilling experience. There was little to dislike, as the comprehensive approach to language learning made my time there both enjoyable and highly productive.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...I attended LSI for three months in Paris to improve my French. I had studied French in high school because I wanted to be able to have conversations in French. As the grammar got more complex my motivation waned and my grades went down hill.
Forty years later I decided to take a long vacation and to make language learning the main activity. I found LSI online, saw that they had a school in Paris, I applied and was accepted into their General French course as well as a History of Art class.
My first day started with a conversation with one of the instructors to gauge my fluency level. I was then placed into a class and started to learn. That first day reminded me of how crucial French grammar is and after struggling to find my linguistic footing I switched to a lower level class. I was impressed with LSI's curriculum. Each unit is structured around a cultural, geographical or social theme. Within the units there is subject specific vocabulary and a new grammatical concept. The exercises are varied to allow for discussion, listening, and reinforcement of the new grammar lesson. The instructors use a variety of methods to help the students grasp, practice and master the new information.
One of the best parts of attending LSI was getting to take tours with the school staff. I got to visit parts of Paris I hadn't been to, learned the history and got to know other students while practicing my French. LSI Paris is located in the heart of the city, a short walk or metro trip from the city's landmarks. LSI's facilities are clean and comfortable and there's a large common room with coffee, snacks and seating for getting to know the other students during breaks.
LSI offers host family stays as an option for housing. This is an additional way to be immersed in French culture and to practice speaking outside the classroom. Although I was in a host apartment, my host worked late so we didn't connect as much as I'd hoped to.
I strongly recommend LSI to anyone who wants to learn a foreign language. You are in control of your program-when it starts, how long it lasts and your personal involvement. attending an LSI school will help improve your language skills and will allow you to experience a language in a city that's rich in culture.
Thoroughly enjoyed experience and only wish I could have stayed longer but I will be back!

After a quick skills assessment I was placed in class with 10-12 students of similar skill level. The teacher was fantastic in getting the students to feel comfortable speaking French. Materials were provided and each day I learned new vocabulary, grammar skills such as proper use of pronouns (en and y), passé composé vs imparfait, typical French gestures and vernacular. We had a 4 hour day in class everyday and 2 field trips. I made friends and had a blast!

The professor, Ivan Coudert, was incredible: very knowledgeable, intelligent and willing to always address our wildest questions, he kept the class going, we have learned a lot, while it was in a very calm and friendly atmosphere. It was interactive, and very very good! Also Daniel who was administrative stuff, was great as well as all of the rest of the stuff: I talked to the students during breaks, and everyone seemed happy with their respective teachers.
The location was incredible as well, one can not beat it: two steps from all of the beloved places in Paris, at the beginning of Marais, one of my favorite arrondissement of Paris, the best location I could ever imagine.
The facility amazed me as it was everything one would need, including the stove and fridge, etc. to cook the food if necessary: I did not expect that at all. I had my own housing so no comment on that. But otherwise I have the highest highest praise for your school in Paris. Loved it and every minute in it!
I would highly recommend do everyone.
Crossing my fingers, I am planning to return to Paris in September and when I am there, I am planning to go to LSI as well.
My French I believe improved tremendously from being there. We will see when I take the next test:)
Melanie is an exceptional teacher, so kind and friendly, while at the same being good at the skill of teaching. I improved a lot with her. She is most students' favorite teacher.
Marcel is a very friendly person and we had interesting discussions, but he does not know how to teach. He was very unclear and not thorough in his explanations, and I often had to go home and teach myself the concept he had failed to teach us in class. I think he is great for facilitating discussions about interesting current events, french culture, etc. for students who are already proficient in grammar, conjugations, and vocabulary, but if you still need to work on these things you will not improve with Marcel as your teacher.
Overall, this was a wonderful experience, the school is well organized and professional, and I found a very cool, interesting community of international friends.
It was convenient, for me.
Very good instructions on how to find the class with codes etc.
A very heavy door to enter!
I was surprised that I hadn’t paid for entire day of classes for the 4 days I attended. I thought I had. Was expensive!
Nice small class with pleasant and friendly pupils.
Ok place for a coffee. Cheap coffee .
Teacher was nice and good at getting us to talk.
I feel the room arrangement was odd for the teacher as her computer was on the other side of us and away from us, so she had difficulty looking at the large screen and had to turn her head the wrong way to see what the board said!! Very uncomfortable for her. Surely her computer should be behind us or at the back of room or?
All in all a wonderful experience for me and I left feeling way more confident and felt I finally understood passé composé!
Thank you
Judy Gluckman
Lea was my favourite teacher ever. She was excellent at building a learning community and having us discuss ideas in French. I learned tons in the class and wish I had more time to keep studying. My classmates were so fun, such a wonderful international group of learners. We also loved Manon’s tours. Manon was very fun and we had an extra French lesson out in the beautiful world of Paris.

The teachers were really friendly and helpful as were my classmates. The location was perfect, just a couple minutes from the nearest metro station. Overall it was a great experience and I would do it again. There aren’t any negative experiences that I had during my stay in Paris.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...On reflection; neither Lauren or I enjoyed the class time. The lessons and the group had met before and were continuing their study. we suspect that the class we were put into was probably a bit harder and we should have been in A2 (such as our tests indicated) we were put into B1. This was problematic as the teacher was not very engaging. Lauren started Tuesday in an even harder class, where the teacher was super engaged and moved to my class mid morning. the teacher was very serious and not prepared to change the pace of the class.
the afternoon privates were terrific, both Lauren and i enjoyed our time with these teachers who where engaging, thoughtful.
We did both feel that our French improved, for her listening and comprehension and for me much needed support in my oral skills.
I did share this feedback directly with the school
My recommendation for people only attending for 1 week would be for the school to level down, waiting for the student to identify if it is too easy. French outside France is taught very differently. 'All in French'
Hope this helps, Sem your help in organising was appreciated.
Thanks
Ann
I really enjoyed my time studying in Paris LSI, I expanded my knowledge of French, Damia the teacher helped a lot and gave good guidance.
I Recommended this school for learning
I did the French course for three weeks at LSI in Paris. I really enjoyed my time here. The teachers are very kind and patient. Everyone on my group was around the same level, this makes it easy to notice progress.
The lessons are the perfect mix between speaking, writing, listening and reading.
I can say I learned a lot during my time at LSI and I can recommend them.
I like the location is close to le Chapelle.
I like the teachers specially Ivan. I could learn the most from him.
Dislike: some teacher were sometime boring but okay i could survived.
All were in general very friendly.
The receptionist was always courteous
I spent 2 weeks reviewing my French at LSI. I was very happy with the courses and especially the teachers. The afternoon conversation class was terrific! Location was right near my apartment, so easy to get to. Facilities were adequate. Staff was super helpful.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...I absolutely loved learning at LSI. In the group classes, I felt like we covered a wide range of grammar and vocabulary whilst learning about French culture and sharing experiences with others in the class. The classes were well structured and I enjoyed being able to do all different sorts of activities including listening exercises, speaking, writing and refining grammar concepts. My morning teacher was great and helped me a lot. In the afternoons, I loved my private classes. They were very well tailored to my level and we worked on so many things which helped me to improve whilst also speaking constantly in French which was a huge learning bonus. The facilities at LSI were immaculate. Everything was clean and the classrooms were very bright and conducive to class discussions and positive learning experiences. The location was also fantastic, right next to the Pompidou and in a great area for restaurants, metro access and cultural activities.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...The teacher was very good, was motivating and friendly. The location of the school is very central, you can get there quickly. The class size was not too big, or ideal. If you have any questions before you start school, you have personal assistance, which is good. I expected the size of the school to be bigger. There are enough employees available who can help with questions.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...I had such an amazing time at LSI, I had the afternoon sessions and I found them extremely useful. I had Melanie for my teacher who was very enthusiastic and made each class very interesting. I really enjoyed the type of class I selected, as I wanted to focus on speaking and this class was a perfect fit for what I was looking for. I was able to practice speaking in a very welcoming environment. Additionally, there was a lot of listening comprehension practices and a lot of discussion on real life situations which certainly helped me ameliorate my French skills.
The school staff were also very friendly and the location of the school was fantastic. I was able to see Paris whilst attending my class. I was also able to make many likeminded friends during my 3 weeks of school. Overall, I am very pleased with my experience at school and I hope to return again in the coming years.
With regards to the housing, I believe I was very lucky. I cannot be more grateful of my host, she really made me feel like I was living at my own house. We often had dinners together and she went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. The apartment was immaculate and I had such as amazing room. I truly felt very comfortable and it was better than a hotel! My host was extremely generous and kind, she was always willing to help me whenever I needed. The house was also very clean and I had access to anything I needed. I could not have asked to be with anyone better and I cannot be more thankful!
i really liked the school position, and school facilities
the building was so well organised
teachers and advisors were always available and ready to help you
loved it
Overall it was so great! The teachers were amazing and I met such amazing people. I would say that I was put in
The wrong class twice and moved twice which meant I didn’t have good continuity of learning. Potentially a more extensive test would work well to ensure people were out in the write level. Also maybe having to speak French all the time would improve everyone’s French also! Everyone spoke English which was lovely but didn’t help with my speaking.
I really enjoyed my experiencing and would definitely do it again!
Thank you so much!
I was very pleased with the housing offered. My teacher was very engaged. I wish though that there hadn't been so much group work in class. I would have preferred to do activities on my own and then discuss with the whole class.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...The teachers and the students were all very welcoming, which helped me integrate myself in the class in very little time. The location was easy to reach, as it was very close to my hotel in the centre of the city. The facilities were well organized, and the classes helped me submerge myself in the French language - I even found myself thinking in French more often. Overall, a good way to better grasp French syntax and grammar.

The teachers were super helpful and understanding, always willing to help me out. I personally didn’t partake in any social activities that the school proposed but from the look of it they seemed really fun and entertaining. From what my colleagues told me, the housing options were wonderful. Over all a 10 out of 10.

The location was very easy to get to and in a very nice area, with lots of options during lunch breaks.
I couldn't use the weekend activities as I left on Saturday.
But the program offered would have been very interesting.
I would have liked to have attended a course for another week and would attend a course again at any time.
I really liked the learning experience at school. Getting there was easy and the location is excellent and close to many beautiful and central places.
At first, I was put in a group at a level that seemed too high to me, but my teacher, who was an excellent teacher - Melanie - told me that I should stay as going down a level will make me stay at the same level and will not make a progress, and she was right!
I really enjoyed the lessons and felt like I learned a lot, even though in terms of vocabulary the students who were with me were more advanced (because of similarities in words in French and Spanish, for example).
I only regret that I was there only for a week and would love to come back again for a longer time.
The location was perfect, in the middle of the city, near the Pompidou. I enjoyed classes, improved my French and found new friends from all over the world.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating I had a great time with the mix of classmates and could not have asked for a better teacher, Melanie is absolutely WONDERFUL!
I enjoyed my two weeks course at LSI Paris. The teachers were lovely, too.
However, I did not really get the feeling that the course had been previously organized. We never received a textbook (when we asked for an explanation we were told that "every teacher has their own method"), and I did not feel like every teacher had a plan/program, they were rather explaining random grammar (which is always useful, but an overall structure can be helpful, too) but for example not working on vocabulary and not using appropriate methods (in an A1 course we were shown a movie without subtitles and asked to talk about it ??).
Also, all of the explanations were in French. I understand the principle of the total Immersion, but this does not work for everyone. I was still able to understand most of it because I study linguistics and Neo-Latin languages, but students with a different background or from a Germanic speaking country (Norway, Germany....) were clueless most of the time (especially if you consider that we are talking about a beginner's course! )
All in all it was a pleasant experience but when attending a private school that is also so expensive one might expect a bit more of a method and organization.
Classes were structured very well - we had clearly defined tasks and topics, and we approached all of the important aspects of learning a language: speaking, listening, reading and writing. The teachers were extremely helpful to me, and helped me develop confidence in speaking French. The location was amazing, situated in the heart of Paris was really nice.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...After taking class at the level B1 with LSI in January 2022 I can say that I can feel the shift in my ability to speak and to deal with difficult situations in french. The teacher and work team in class was inspiring. Teacher is calm, patient and passionate about her profession. She described the grammer in details with comprehensible examples and own expertise. She was really experienced linguist and professional. The only flaw is that I would prefer a desk rather then a chair with table. But, probably, it is more relevant for work in teams. Students in class and out of class were speaking french, so I could exercise additionally afterschool. I hope to repeat this amazing experience to boost my language capacity.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...I took French classes at LSI for one week. Because I was only able to study for one week, I took classes in the morning only. The location of the school is great. I liked the small class. The combination of speaking, grammar, writing, and listening was great for me. I also found the teachers to be excellent.
For advancing in French, it would have been nice if I could have taken classes in the afternoon also. But this was not an option for me because I could only come for a week. But I have to say that I did practice my French a lot while I was touring around Paris in the afternoons and going to restaurants, shopping, etc.
Overall, this was a terrific experience. The school, the teachers, and my fellow students were all great.
This was an outstanding language immersion experience. I was fortunate to be placed in a class with students at about the same level of proficiency. The free flow of conversation was stimulating, challenging and everyone was given equal time. The broad range of topics was especially welcome. I enjoyed several "aha" moments with points of grammar and some out-of-date usage dating from when I learnt French at school - a long time ago;-}. The only disappointment arose with the dictation sessions, a weak spot of mine, which were hobbled by technical difficulties and I would say LSI's apparent lack of technical support for the instructor.
I only have high praise for both instructors, Élisabeth and Mélanie. They allowed discussions to flow naturally such that there was never a dull moment. I appreciated that they freely offered their own insights. Their cultural observations were particularly trenchant and eye-opening. Both instructors were highly creative in topics chosen and how the class was asked to approach them. The opportunity to expand my vocabulary and overcome my speaking hesitancy was helped enormously.
In sum, each session had me rivetted and fully engaged, so much so that after the first session I forgot how uncomfortable the seating was. LOL
Would do it again!
I took the course intensive 30 over 4 weeks and I am happy with the course. The rest of my class was a bit more advanced than me in french, and i did not understand that much the first week. However, there was generally a good distribution between written and oral activities. the classes with Melanie before lunch and the lessons with Ivan after lunch were good. One of the weeks we had a substitute teacher before lunch. This week I did not learn that much, as the teacher did not speak English, and I think that makes it difficult for someone who is at my level in French. But all in all, LSI is a very nice school with good teachers and activities.

Location of the school 1+, a direct neighbor of the centre pompidou. Location of the host family 2+. There were enough metro lines to commute to the remote location of the building
But to make me clear, the host family did a great job to make that trip the best language trip i have ever been to.
The class and the teachers are very good and I liked to go there to learn something new. The lessons were interesting and varied, for everybody.

Some students were there for many weeks, and others like us were only studying for one week. There was no English spoken in the class, and although the focus was on conversation, there was written work and vocabulary each day that accompanied the conversation and tasks. We were both amazed at how much our French improved in just one week! Highly recommend for anyone looking to improve their language skills when visiting a new country.

Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...The LSI did not inform us during the registration that their is open strike in Paris will start on December 5th.
The strike will negatively effect the transport from and to the school and Airport.
I had to Cancel my school after 2 days of study and change my flight to leave Paris before the strike start.
I lost lots of money (school fee, housing fee & Air ticket fee and flight change fees)
I did both small group classes with LSI and one-on-one conversations privately while in Paris so can comment on the benefits and difference of both.
I will say that the experience that I had with LSI administration was excellent - super welcoming, very organised. The enjoyment/value of the classes was unsurprisingly dependent on the teacher - there are some teachers who are excellent - super engaged, truly loving their jobs and others who are not quite as interested.
Overall while the small group classes didn't extend my language skills as much as the 1-on-1, they were excellent for meeting people and expanding vocabulary.
I found that I was very well welcomed in the house, the teacher was energetic and the group of students had a variery of age, which I apreciated.
I had a cource of two weeks which is not so much, but I was able to revitalise my french a bit - it is 3o years since I last was on a scool bench.
My experience at LSI Paris has been one of the best in my life in all aspects. First, the support of the staff and the teachers are amazing. I was so lucky to stay at my host family with kind, funny and nice people, which I am still in touch. All the classes and friends that I have made there were amazing and definitely my week at LSI Paris have improved a lot my French skills on grammar, listening, vocabulary and pronunciation. I had a lot of fun and a lot of learning!

Despite this, during the first couple weeks I felt little, if not any, improvement in proficiency in French. The expectations for my comprehension were higher than I expected, and I felt lost and without guidance. Strangely, I understood more and was able to participate more after moving up to the B2 class, more was explained and the teacher catered to both our understanding and lack of understanding. Coming out of this experience, I felt like a proficient French learner, more able to understand spoken French and written French, as well as becoming a more confident speaker.

The location was very good. Just a walking distance from where I stayed. I had two different teachers, one in the morning and a different one in the afternoon. Both were great. If there is anything to suggest, I would recommend to take more time at each activity. A few times I had the feeling that we were moving too fast from one subject to another.
Besides that, everything else was perfect.
The teacher and the location were excellent. I think that the classes should be upgraded with more advanced tech, and that we lacked afternoon activities. The website didn't really contain any homework or class' summaries.

I was also very appreciative of the teaching style; it was diverse and enabled improvement in the various aspects of French comprehension. Paris was very navigable so traveling to and from class was not too much of an issue. The only discourse I have with the school was the classroom setup. Even though class sizes were small, it still felt cramped and the desks were very awkward to write on. Also, each day we were provided printouts of the day's lesson. These immediately became overwhelming and hard to keep track of. I think it would be better to advise students to purchase the workbook to save time and space.

I loved the class format with students from many different countries and the personal attention provided me for the art history portion of the class. Madame Emery explained everything in French and encouraged us all to participate. Her passion for teaching and her love of French art is apparent and she has the ability to successfully explain French grammaire and art history in French in a way that makes sure that her students understand. I made so very much progress and gained tremendous confidence in conversing with local Parisiens.
My homestay was also exceptional. Madame Dominique Lacourte openly shared her beautiful home and she was an excellent cook. She was also very kind. In addition to cleaning and cooking, she felt responsible for helping me learn French and spent hours discussing virtually everything with me including events at school, local and world news, our families, our interests, French culture, etc.
Location and facilities were super! I was unable to participate in the single social activity planned weekly because it conflicted with my art class. I would have enjoyed spending more time with my fellow students.
I simply could not have imagined a better, more productive or more enjoyable educational experience.
I'm a slow learner and was concerned that doing a short course, I wouldn't get much out of it I was completely wrong. I Highly recommend this school to anyone wanting to study French.
I had a fantastic teacher that was understanding and catered to every students individual needs including my own. The class was a good size so that the teacher could listen to our individual pronunciations of words when we where doing group role plays. The people in my class where from all over the world and we got along great and organised outings together after class. The school reception staff where genuinely very helpful about things to see and do in Paris and how to get their. The school organised free group tours or activities once a week so we could socialises with other students in the school and explore new exciting areas of Paris. The location of the school was in an amazing area of Paris the facilities and general set up of the school was very organised tidy and well maintained.
I liked the teachers "no non-sense" attitude. We are here to learn French, so not too much of any other language would be accepted except when it helps in the understanding of a word or phrase.
The location is excellent in the very heart of Paris.
I rented an apartment myself.
The teacher the first week was well organized and covered all areas of language learning with more emphasis on oral and less on grammar. The oral was the main area of interest for me. I enjoyed the topics of study and discussion and also learning a bit about France and French culture.
The second week was quite different even though the class was the same level. The teacher spend about 50% of the time on grammar , all which was below my level. I did not score well on my assessment test so I was put in a lower class than my ability in grammar. Also, the teacher the second week was not as well organized and this wasted time as a result.
There were students in the class who did not speak any French. The class was not well balanced according to abilities.
The blue room was a disappointment compared to other rooms at the centre, and compared to pictures on the website. Also, it was too small for 13 people. And, the chairs were in 2 tight rows which wasn’t good for communication. A semi circle would have worked better the first week.
Overall, I was engaged , especially the first week, and experienced learning in grammar, comprehension , oral, writing and vocabulary.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
I studied for only a week - from February 5 to 9, when a lot of snow fell and the train service was paralyzed and our teachers were missing. I liked the school. But there was a teacher (a young lady) who gave us classes on Wednesday afternoon and Friday morning that did not correct our pronunciation and gave English synonyms to understand the meaning of the words in French. If I travel to France to improve my pronunciation it is unacceptable that the teacher does not correct us.
313/5000
Another: I attended classes in the morning and in the afternoon. If I had to go back, I would only do it in the morning. Afternoon class does not pay off very well.
And lastly, not all teachers do well for some students who are already in school for a long time and become inconvenient playing and monopolizing the classes.
My personal experience has been excellent!
The teachers very willing.
The work group very well leveled.
It generates a very good atmosphere.
Daniel Quinteros, referring hispanoparlando, like the other teachers, have maximum friendliness with the students.
Experience = excellent
I liked the teacher a lot and I found the class enjoyable
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...The location of the school was very convenient. Also the school was well organized but I would like to have a free snack. Furthermore the facilities were very good and the teachers were easy to follow. I would prefer later classes and better positioning of the tv cause it wasn't visible from all the angles.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...The classes were well organized and the teachers were professionals. A small objection is about the new students. I mean it's okay to meet new people, the only problem was when the new students arrive and start to have a classes with others, they can not follow the classes properly and the teachers are often forced to return back to lessons that the others have already done.
About the location nothing to add.
Small objection about he facilities. It's not always easy to manage all files, documents and notebooks on a small chair tables. But in general for me was not a big problem because I always tried to sit next to window and had more space around me.
Housing was excellent too. I only had a problem with my working desk, because it was a little bit narrow and low for my legs. But I had a big bed so I switched from studying on my desk and on my bed.
I had a realyl good experience with LSI.
I enjoyed the classes and the activities, the location of the school is perfect and the teachers were fantastic.
I've not only found classmates, but friends to share a great experience. I've spent every afternoon with them, speaking French, visiting museums and walking around the city
What I didn't like? Nothing!
Overall LSI Paris was fantastic, no complaints other than slightly slow WiFi. The classes were very enjoyable and not harsh, perhaps a little bit too laid back rather than focusing on the work, but that could be from lack of personal effort. While maintaining a lively and joyful atmosphere in the classroom I also learned a lot of French words and phrases within four weeks. Going from beginner level A2 to intermediate level B1. Great teachers, people, activities, and facility!

Maybe I was hoping for more activities, since it was only a one time trip because I think this is the best way to learn.
I would like to express my deep gratitude to William Courtney, as he was very helpful. He has helped me step by step to finalize booking and find the perfect accommodation.
Amicalement :)
The teaching level was pretty good. The 1:1 sessions were great for me.
The group classes could have been better - the students preparing for the DELF exams got disproportionate attentions at the expense of the other students.
The B2 level students were not really all the same.
We could have received more individual feedback after the placement test - we received no feedback so this dampened the experience.
I enjoyed going to the course because we talked about situations from everyday life, which gave me information of other countries. The teachers were nice and they always tried to talk and describe things in French. The school is at a good location, everyone could get there in 30 minutes from almost everywhere in the city. My host lady was really kind, and she also rejected talking in English so I was forced to speak only in French.

Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...Loved the class, teacher was good and had a nice sense of humor. Classmates were lovely people. I especially liked how he took one of our mistakes and used it as a basis for teaching a grammar point.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...I liked the teaching techniques and also the fact that I was forced to speak. Teachers were very creative when preparing topics for our lessons. In my opinion, the feedback given at the end of each week is a great tool to allow teachers to react promptly to students´ needs.
I was accommodated by Madame Doux´. I was very much satisfied and would recommend her to other students.
The professor (Sylvia) was very professional, and the students were very committed to learning. The school's location is great and Paris is an amazing city to visit.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...The school is in the center, which is really cool. It's very difficult to get lost. The house is also good for staying for some time. The classes are interesting and the manner of teaching is good for studying a language. I like everything. Two weeks are not that much to conclude anything but I can say that the school is really nice. I was the only Russian in the group, which was really, really awesome, especially for language.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...I attended LSI Paris for 5 weeks during the summer of 2013. In the first week I was impressed with which class I ended up in. It was a huge shock as I was not really up to it but I persevered and soon found myself able to cope. Nevertheless the teachers were very understanding about my concerns and were even happy for me to swap class twice in two days - down and back up again! - showing that they clearly respected how I as a student felt.

The teaching here is excellent and I would like to make special mention here to Léa Borrelli. She is without doubt the best french teacher I have ever had in my life. While being flexible and understanding, she was also a solid professional who always had a clear lesson plan with her material prepared beforehand. She also showed a keen interest in her students and started every lesson asking students what they had done the afternoon before. I can't praise her highly enough and instead I feel the need to endorse her for a raise of some kind! The school is lucky to have her.

With regards to the school itself I have mixed feelings. While it does have everything you need, I felt they were underprepared for a lot of things. For example in my fourth week they failed to find a replacement teacher for us and so one of the staff was forced into action. She promptly began teaching us with a different method, textbook and topics! Also as there weren't enough teaching they were forced to mix what should have been 3 different levels of classes into 2 for the afternoon. The result was an overcrowded classroom with too many levels of students. A shambles really considering how much money we paid for it.

Another issue is the atmosphere. I was someone who worked damn hard to earn the money that I used to pay for this course and on occasions I felt treated like I was a under aged student still at school. As many people who attend the school are not funding themselves I can see how such an atmosphere would develop. Yet when I arrived late one morning after spending the weekend on my hands and knees trying to stop a big leak in my bathroom I was met being told that I 'could not enter the classroom' by admin staff and that I should have been on time. Now I fully respect rules but the lack of asking WHY I was late was too much and I was not about to be spoke down too like a naughty schoolboy. Therefore I would advise LSI to remember who is paying you this money and to show a bit more understanding to those who might be in need. And I would advise anyone who does attend to keep in mind how much you are paying and not to be pushed around by staff who might just want to make it easy for themselves.

However in general I was deeply impressed with how much my french improved and the standard of teaching in general. I would advise it to anybody as long as you attend a minimum of 6 weeks. I went for 5 and understood (I think) that teachers can plan 6 week courses and otherwise you're joining in half way. Still though I did it and still found it excellent. :) Vivre la LSI!
It was not my first time living with the host family and I can say only good things about them. But my host family in Paris was so bad, that I had to move out. I sent the email with the details to Natalia. The school is ok, but it does not do much for students to interact with each other after the classes. However, I want to thank Daniel from the school, he helped me find the solutions for my problems so many times! He is very polite and friendly.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...The ambiance at school, the camaraderie between teachers and students and the friendships made my stay at LSI excellent. Although small, the school provides excellent teachers and teaching methods. The activities, including museum/exposition visits and picnics, were enriching.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...I spent only one week there, so I can't say much. In general, I am very satisfied, and the teacher was really professional.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...The initial test that I took to determine my level did not properly reflect my actual grasp of the French language, but after a week there the teacher herself acknowledged this, and I was sent to a more challenging class. I was able increase my vocabulary and overall conversation skills in a satisfactory way.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...I was put in a class the first day that was too difficult. This situation was rectified immediately on my arrival the second day. I was put in a class that was quite appropriate for my needs. Unfortunately, it was mostly comprised of teenagers who obviously did not want to be there. It hurt the class having them there. At least I was in the correct class, though, so I was optimistic at this point. Then, we were squeezed into a room that was much to small for the amount of people (and the size of the table); if one person in the back of the room needed to get up and leave the room, we all had to get up to let this person out. The chairs were uncomfortable as well; much too uncomfortable if you are in a tight place for over 3 hours. I felt bad for the teacher. She was very compitent and patient even though the room was obviously sub-standard. I think the more advanced classes were in the other rooms. This was just silly.
At the end of the second day of classes, we were all told that we had no school the next day (Bastille Day). I paid for 5 classes. I wanted to be compensated. I was told ""no"" by the people in Paris and by the person in the US (you guys!) as well. Apparently, there is a ""no refund"" policy. Well, I have a policy of not paying for things I DON""T GET. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau regarding this. After all, I do have a written contract from you stating that I am to received 5 days of classes from July 10 through July 14. The person in charge in Paris said that the people in the US were supposed to tell me I was only getting 4 days of classes. I guess the lawyers can figure out who is responsible for my reimbursement.
The next 2 classes were adequate enough. It just was a shame that I really only got 3 classes (due to the holiday and the wasted first day) and they were ruined due to the other students.
The teacher was very good. I think that the facility itself was also quite good for the other students who were in normal rooms.
I just wish I had never signed up for this class. What a waste of time and money. I could never recommend it. Perhaps if I received 5 full days of classes in a regular room with students like me, who wanted to learn, I might feel differently - but we will never know, will we?
Overall, very good! I learned a lot. I liked the fact that the teachers would review and grade my homework if I brought in extra work, exercises, essays. I enjoyed the work, but my partner Robin isn't that much of a language lover, so she thought 2 months of classes was a bit too long. She did it anyway, taking a day off from time to time. For people like Robin it might be nice if there was an arrangement wherein a student might attend classes only 4 days/week rather than 5! Maybe you have that arrangement already, I don't know.
I liked our home host in that she would work with us on our french; it was as if we had a private tutor in the evenings. She was quiet interested in our progress. I would encourage the school to more or less train the home-hosts in how to help students with their language difficulties.
Again, my experience was fruitful. I enjoyed the work!
Sincerely,
Philp Wagner
the teachers were really good.
but we've paid for some material that we hadn't.... the books, we were not able to take them for us. we were taken just the fotocopies.
Everything was awesome !
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...I really liked the teachers, they are all great and helpful. However, classes were not filled with students of the same level from time to time, so I felt at times that classes were too easy even though I was in the most advanced one. This is to say that school is great for beginners and mid-intermediates.
The course in the afternoon was a lot better as I was mostly the only student that was preparing for DELF.
